More than 110 lucky drivers experienced the ride of a lifetime at Sonoma Raceway on Saturday, Jan. 17, at the 2nd annual  Laps for Charity event.

The event raised more than $17,000 for the Sonoma chapter of Speedway Children's Charities, which is dedicated to raising money for Sonoma County youth organizations.  For just $150, each driver enjoyed a pre-lap safety briefing with professional racing drivers, three lead-follow laps around the 12-turn, 2.52-mile circuit and a picture of their car on track.

It's a rare opportunity for drivers to pilot their own car around the challenging circuit, while also supporting a great cause.
